Ugh update

So everyone is having health problems. My mother fell in her shower about 2 months ago and had a long stay in the hospital. She didn’t break anything, but was severely bruised and apparently had a bladder infection. She was released from the hospital to a rehab hospital, where she tried again and again to NOT do her pt. She was finally released to a small apartment in an assisted living facility. She spent two days there until she became dizzy and disoriented. Back to the hospital where an angioplasty was discussed. In the end, it was decided not to do the angioplasty, so she’s back at the assisted living care facility.

Until the next time something happens.

Worse news is that my DIL who lives on our property with my youngest son and their 2 yr old daughter has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. She already has KCD.

she is just 26.

Max and I just returned from a trip to see Son #3 and his family. He had been stationed in Seoul, South Korea and while he returned quite awhile back, we hadn't seen him except for a quick weekend in Chicago. We had a fantastic time. Two of my of my other sons had told me, "Mom if you ever go to Colorado, you won't ever want to leave". I knew it would be true. We loved it! We went up Pikes Peak, saw the Garden of the Gods, the Air Force Academy Chapel. There are deer in everybody's yards, prairie dogs, hawks, and of course bears, which we didn't get to see, but the kids have so many pictures of them just wandering thru their yard. We took our little granddaughter to a bowling alley (her idea!) the Children's Museum and as many parks as we could. There weren't any real crowds anywhere but the museum, so that was nice. We even did a little shopping...Max brought me these ridiculous, but highly appropriate socks.

#me too

So one of my weirdest moments occurred yesterday. I was on the phone with my mother and she asked me what I thought about that “mess in Washington” I was taken aback, but promptly answered, “I believe Dr Blasey Ford” I couldn’t believe she asked me that, but then I remembered that she doesn’t know about my own experience being molested. Then she said she will, “just be glad when it’s all over” I was so horrified by that statement! IT WILL NEVER BE OVER MOTHER”She will never know my story and it kind of pisses me off. I’d never forgotten, of course, but I disassociated myself from the incidences so thoroughly, that when the #me too came about it didn’t register with me for quite a while.

I believe now that Kavanaugh is a much bigger threat to all of us than trump.

I am mostly used to Rufio getting me up sometime in the middle of the night, usually around 3:00 a.m. or 4:00 a.m. He does his business and we’re back to sleep again few minutes later. But *sometimes* he wakes me up multiple times during the night. Last night went something like this:

11:30 p.m potty break

11:40 p.m. forgot something (apparently)

1:30 a.m. invisible aliens attacking!

2:45 a.m. invisible aliens attacking!

4:30 a.m. actual alien (cat)

5:55 a.m. Timmy fell down the well (I guess)

6:25 a.m. Bone time! Time to wake up Daddy for cuddles and snacks!
I love this wretched little furball, but honestly 😑

Everything is a little bit much for my anxiety and misophonia. Yesterday was spent accompanying my mother to a neurological specialist. For over an hour and half, I sat with her while the specialist examined her. I’m always worried that I might overstep myself, but mom was very grateful. Her big overwhelming concern was what could possibly be done for her excessive drooling. Turns out she has the very beginnings of Parkinson’s. Very mild and instead of the Dr saying that there’s nothing to be done, as mom feared, she is going to get Botox injections into her salivary gland. This is wonderful new. The treatment easy, non-invasive and should work for months.

It was such a loooonnnggg day though and when we got home I was exhausted, partly because of being out all day and partly because Rufio spent the previous night going in and out and in and out chasing invisible monsters. I barely had time to breathe and Max’s church leader stopped by for a visit and brought his wife along. By this time I am t am totally overwhelmed and overstimulated. I know this woman not at all. But they didn’t stay too long, and since Max had a meeting to go to, I escaped to my nice dark room and watched, “The Quiet Place” It was pretty good although a bit over the top. I thought I might be able to sleep in a little bit this morning, but Max’s brother came by. After he left my sorta friend who is a veterinarian came over early to look at Rufio, who has a mass on his chest. She told me to monitor him and didn’t think it was anything to be concerned about *yet*
I am completely *peopled* out, and the airplanes are being obnoxious.

SIGH.
