June Something- day 15
I was very disappointed to not be able to participate in The June Something. I barely had time to check out the posts, RL being a bitch these few weeks. Grrr has regressed after reducing his prednisone He was only about halfway through the course of treatment when he started stumbling and falling again. The push to finish the second house has us working 14 hour days.
But enough of that. The last question for this fest needed to be answered
What is something you do today that you wouldn't be doing if not for fandom? Examples: Vacation with fellow fen, running a community, etc.
Fandom has pretty much changed my life in all ways and for the much better. I have friends! Some of who miss me when I’m gone (here’s looking at
respoftw) I’ve learned a world view from fandom, kinks I didn’t know I had, appreciation for crack!fic, animal transformation, every cliche and trope. I’ve been exposed to absolutely wonderful fan videos, art and even new tv to watch. I’ve gone to several Cons which should be impossible for me because of extreme social anxiety.
Last, but certainly not least, my art has gone from graphite portraits, to colored pencils to watercolor, ink, photo manipulation and digital painting. I love it and I love my fandom fen.

The con was the one place I didn't have social anxiety. It was like I was finally in a place where people understood me.
I'm so happy you're in fandom!!

Thank you! You are one of the reasons this fandom is so great!
I think that is the reason I did so well the first time I was at the Chicago Con, people who were just as rabid fans as I am. It was a revelation. It was coming home.

I’m sorry I’m so late in answering. Busy busy!. Grrr is doing OK if we keep him on a relatively high dose of steroids and our vet was not at all happy to increase his dosage, but we have a new neurologist that we will be seeing in July and hopefully we can get him on a new meds regimen. Thank you for your kind words and always being here for me, and all of us.
