The Colonel is cleverly crafty

During the puppy crisis, Grrr fell down two steps and we were lucky he didn't fall further. The steps are two inch thick, solid oak. No carpet and kinda slick. Max, being the worrywart he is, decided to make a 'baby gate' and it turned out so cool! He bought a panel of maple and cut grooves about an inch apart, so that it can curl, just like the rolly part of a roll top desk.

Thank you. Max is a talented carpenter. He built the whole cabin and the spiral staircase he’s especially proud of.

Yep. He did. Max has always been unorthodox. At the time he was commissioned, he was the youngest army officer in the U.S. but he hasn’t fired a weapon in almost 40 years. He’s a soldier who really hates killing things. Hence the thriving gopher colony that was our front yard. He is a brilliant carpenter, having built both the cabin we live in and the house next door. He can fix almost anything mechanical and has rebuilt several cars. He’s a dork who makes me laugh one minute, then want to kill him in the next.

Thank you bb, Max is a super talented carpenter. He built the cabin. I wish you could see the spiral staircase that the puppy gate is on. Max is super proud of how that turned out.
