Snowflake Challenge Day 2

Day 2

In your own space, share a favorite memory about fandom: the first time you got into fandom, the last time a fanwork touched your heart, crazy times with fellow fans (whether on-line or off-line), a lovely comment you’ve received or have left for someone.

all of these things; favorite memory, 1st time in fandom, a time when fandom touched my heart are tied to the last suggestion: a lovely comment i left on a SGA McShep story. I was stunned by the appreciative comment I received in turn. Which led me to try to comment on ever story I read. Some of these stories have been LIFE CHANGING Which made me want to contribute to the fandom. SGA has been been my first fandom and though I lurk in others, SGA, McShep will probably always be #1. The crazy times are definitely the couple of Chicago cons I was able to attend. Met people who were just as “weird” as me. The one dessert party where we posed somones John and Rodney figures around the table stands out.

Feedback is a powerful thing. It's connection, conversation, and often exactly what we need to hear when we need to hear it.

Your crazy times sound like an awful lot of fun. :)

(here from the Snowflake Challenge :))

At its height, SGA was the most supportive fandom I've ever experienced. For a huge fandom, it never felt it, and the common spirit of encouraging one another was so strong. Finding your fannish home is just the best feeling!
