You know, I guess it was more tornados, but I remember well one time in Texas, I think it was 1984, we had one touch where we lived in Mesquite. And in 1995 in Ft Knox Kentucky. That one I remember well because my older sons and I were at the community center while my middle son babysat for his 2 younger brothers. And when I called him to tell him that the threat was actually serious and I could see several funnel clouds forming and touching, he wasn't sure it was a big enough deal to take protective cautions.I can't blame him, he's just like me. I think I finally convinced him, but we stayed in the community center building for a long time, and one woman with a couple of smaller kids got hysterical. I thought she was ridiculous and doing her kids no favor by scaring them to death There have been a few more here and there, but the really exciting thing was the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. I was alone with 5 kids and without power for over a week.
