Whew!
Rather glad that May is over. We went from nice coolish weather to hotter than hell for awhile and we had a nice, cool wet day today. I like the rainy days and when it finally gets to summer time, I get even more depressed. Everything is too much, too much heat and sun, too much noise and people in our creek.
But I finally saw a doctor, well actually, a nurse practitioner and I like her very much. She prescribed Trazadone to help me sleep and it is taking forever to get the timing and dosage correct. There have been some miserable days trying to figure out the timing and dosage. I still kind of wish for AMBIEN, that worked very well for me, except for occasional sleepwalking and “sleep eating” the NP then prescribed Citaploram for day use, and that turned out to be a disaster. I warned her about atypical reactions I have to things.....
My artwork has really suffered, which shouldn’t be a big deal, but art is my refuge and therapy and lifeline to the larger world. Hopefully I can get back on track. The last day or two I’ve started adjusting to the meds, and no family crap to deal with helps.
The Colonel has had a bad time of it. He had spent the last two weeks watching his mother die by painful degrees. He was in town nearly every day for hours just talking and reading to her. His sister-in-law was providing most of the care, with hospice workers in several times a week. But with The Colonel there, she could take a break sometimes and run errands. So his mother, who had turned 90 in February finally passed on May 23rd. She had been surrounded by her very large family for most of her time here, and she was aware of her family and knew of the love that they had for her. The funeral was yesterday, the 30th.
